In times of a pandemic, food charities face a steeper drop in volunteers and donations. The at-risk demographics are in need now more than ever.

When the news of COVID-19 broke, there was a need to reduce human contact and practice safe distancing measures which led to volunteers opting out from their routines. People were spending lesser to save and last longer in a financial crisis and that led to the drop in donations.

During this period of time, we partnered with FFFA – Free Food For All as we strongly believe that basic necessities should not be a deprivation.

In March 2020, The Shirt Bar embarked on its journey to spread awareness on FFFA’s contributions to the community. With every use of the coupon code “FFFA10”, customers had 10% off their purchase and 10% of the order was donated to FFFA. This was promoted via email marketing and on our social media pages.

FFFA – Free Food For All, is a food charity that aims to provide food aid for all and inculcate the community of food insecurity and food waste. They’ve also been known to set up community fridges that are open 24/7 and also giving out Ready-To-Eat Meal Pouches.

In support of FFFA, we will continue to provide a platform to raise awareness for their cause and educate the public.
